Start at the corner 50, aim 30. The ball comes to 20 on the 3rd cushion (2.3 diamonds); since there is no correction for a start from 50, it also goes to 20 on the 4th cushion, i.e. the bottom-left corner.
This is the form of the diamond system that goes back to Roger Conti; it is used especially for long–short–long bricole shots, and also for normal and reverse around-the-table shots (quart). The cue ball aims from near the start cushion at the opposite long cushion (1st cushion), passes the far short cushion (2nd cushion), comes to the start long cushion (3rd cushion) and from there goes on to the 4th cushion. The calculation is the same: Aim = Start − Arrival. The difference from the diamond system: the start and aim scales are the same (on the aim side there is also a 00 point at the wooden corner), while the 3rd-cushion (arrival) scale is shifted towards the corner and compressed: 0 is not at the corner but at 0.6 diamond, 10 at 1.6, 20 at 2.3, 30 at the 3rd diamond, 40 at 3.7 diamonds, 50 at about 4.45; from 60 on it is the same as the diamond system (5th diamond 60 … 7th diamond 100). For the 4th cushion a separate track scale is given, along with a detailed track-correction table by start (from −11 at 15 to +10 at 90). The spin is plenty of running spin, but struck just below middle height; the speed is enough to carry ball 3 at least 40 cm.
When? In long–short–long bricole shots, and in around-the-table shots (normal and reverse quart) where ball 2 and ball 3 lie near the 3rd or 4th cushion. If the target is on the 4th cushion, the track correction is used.

Watch outReducing the spin or playing a follow-through stroke changes the path after the 3rd cushion; the correction table is for a constant spin and speed.
Watch outDo not apply the track correction to 3rd-cushion targets; it is used only for 4th-cushion targets.
